Information about Winster in the Derbyshire Dales
for residents and visitors
|REFUSE AND RECYCLING|
Weekly collections in Winster are normally on a Wednesday morning. Every second Wednesday, there is also a recycling collection of glass and paper: see this calendar
There are bins for paper, glass (any colour), cans (steel or aluminium) and plastics at the Bank Top car park, just above the common.
There is a comprehensive Recycling Centre at Harrison Way, off the A6 between Darley Dale and Rowsley - for Satnav, use DE4 2LF.
Sandra Purslow at Tonise Hairdressers on Main Street collects old mobile
phones and printer cartridges for recycling in aid of the WRVS.
For many years Winster enjoyed periodic visits from the "Skip Lorry" which allowed residents to get rid of many types of bulky waste very easily. That service ended in August 2011, when the Harrison Way recycling centre opened.
