REFUSE AND RECYCLING

Weekly collections in Winster are normally on a Wednesday morning. Every second Wednesday, there is also a recycling collection of glass and paper.

Saturday Collections

The Skip Lorry comes on ab

out six Saturday mornings a year (see Diary section for dates), and stops as follows:

  • Leacroft Green/Wensley Road at 7.45 to 8.05
  • Market Hall at 8.10 to 8.35
  • East Bank fork of road at 8.40 to 9.05
  • Near Burton Institute at 9.10 to 9.30

The skip lorry goes to Elton on different dates, which can be useful - again, dates are in the Diary section

Timings for Elton:

  • West End at 7.45 to 8.15
  • Near phone box at 8.15 to 8.45
  • East End at 8.45 to 9.30

Conditions

All items must be delivered to the vehicle for disposal. - Should the vehicle become full before the official leaving time, the vehicle will leave and will not return. - If you arrive after the vehicle has left please do not deposit your waste on the site. - Building rubble, bricks etc cannot be removed by this service.

Civic Amenity Sites

There is no Civic Amenity Sites (ie 'tip') near Winster - the nearest is on the A52 on the Mayfield side of Ashbourne (see map) or at Stonegravels in Chesterfield. See general page for details of opening hours.

Sandra Purslow at Tonise Hairdressers on Main Street collects old mobile phones and printer cartridges for recycling in aid of the WRVS.
