The Miners' Standard is owned by Kevin and Doreen Markham, and
we invite you to sample and enjoy our fine cask conditioned ales
and hospitality every lunch time from 12 noon till 4:00pm and
from 7:00pm till 11:00pm in the evenings.
Children and well-mannered dogs are always welcome.
Delicious home-cooked meals are available in the bar or in the
dining room from 12 noon till 2:30pm every day and from 7:00pm
until 8:30pm Monday to Thursday; on Friday and Saturday night,
food is served till 9:00pm. Sorry, no food on Sunday evenings.
The pub itself is a delightful 17th Century free house enjoying
views over surrounding Peak Park hills and valleys. The name refers
to the dish traditionally used by the miners for measuring the
lead ore and, in keeping with the mining tradition, there are
many reminders within the building of the district's links with
the lead industry.
Feel free to enjoy the intimacy and warmth of our snug room behind
a wood burning stove, guaranteed to warm even the coldest winter
traveller. Mingle with friendly locals at the bar, play pool or
darts in the games room, or enjoy traditional fayre in our dining
room or bar.
