Formed in 1978 by the late Richard Barnes, Bakewell Choral Society is a friendly, mixed choir of more than 80 members.
The choir performs four public concerts each year, including a Christmas concert featuring Christmas music, carols, festive poems and prose extracts. Other concerts are a blend of sacred and secular choral music, sometimes including contemporary pieces - by local composers - and, occasionally, commissioned new works.
We are currently seeking new members in the soprano, tenor and bass sections of the choir. Previous choral experience is not essential but always welcome; the Society continues its long tradition of not holding auditions for new members.
We meet on Monday evening in term time (7:15 to 9:30pm) at Bakewell Methodist Church, Bakewell (click for map)

Subscriptions are £65 per year.
