More about Derbyshire Neighbouring VillagesI'd love to include links to village-run websites for all of our neighbours. The following is what I have found so far (If anyone knows better, please let me know.) Elton now has its own village website Youlgrave has a site based on their excellent village magazine, The Bugle and a separate village website. There are separate village sites for Wensley and Birchover. There is a specific Bonsall History site. There is a new site for the hamlet of Aldwark near Grangemill. A little further afield, there is a comprehensive site for Wirksworth and a very lively site for Parwich. The best that I can offer for Stanton-in-Peak is their page on the site www.derbyshireuk.net.

Links to other Derbyshire-related and village-related websites Matlock Music Society - live classical music concerts in Matlock www.derbyshire-peakdistrict.co.uk - independent site with events listing and details of attractions www.derbyshire-thepeakdistrict.co.uk - site sponsored by Derbyshire County Council www.derbyshireuk.net - information on Derbyshire villages Peak Directions - a publicly-funded site that can signpost you to organisations providing information about the Derbyshire Dales: something of a business focus, but some tourism and consumer links too Derbyshire Heritage - an ambitious site with information about sites of historic interest within Derbyshire. So far, strong on mills - many other categories were "in development" when I last checked (April 09) And finally, a site with very limited general interest (but listed here for my own purposes) - Derbyshire County Local Dental Committee. |
