Practices start Thursday 13 March 2007
promptly, please, at 8.00 pm in the Burton Institute followed by a
return to the team bookings meeting. Good chance of having new
recruits on this night
Practices continue weekly thereafter except
after 1 May when some Thursday evenings are dancing out events (watch
the programme diary). |

Dancing with Chesterfield Garland and Cock
& Magpie Morris outside the Fishpond in Matlock Bath followed by
folk music inside.

Donington Medieval Fair, first spot 11.30 in the Market
Place.

Ashbourne senior citizen's residence fund
raising fete. |

Workshop for Youlgrave guides followed by
dancing outside the George Hotel from 9.00 pm

|
7.30 at Ashbourne. This
is one of a series of events run by
Springboard an organisation aimed at
improving community involvement through a
programme of fun and sport activities.
The event will involve both display
and workshop.

Friday - Monday June 13/14/15/16
|
Cecil Sharp weekend - Winster re-enacts the
visit of Cecil Sharp to the village in 1908. Cecil arrived by steam
train at Darley Dale station before alighting and travelling up the hill
to Winster in a horse and carriage. Teams joining in the celebrations
include
Abingdon,
Bampton, Eynsham,
Headington_Quarry,
Ilmington,and
Thaxted, with representatives from hosts of other teams from around the
country.

Sunday 29 June
|
The
Onzain dance team
are in Darley Dale over the weekend
on their twinning visit and we are dancing with
them at the Whitworth 12 noon on Sunday
29th.
Afterwards
you can join us in Winster at the
crowning of the Carnival Queen at
2.30.

Saturday 5 July
|
Winster wakes day with visiting team - Moulton from the cotswolds.
|

Sunday 20 July |
Day out dancing with Uttoxeter Morris, then
returning to dance at the close of the Winster Secret Gardens weekend.
Uttoxeter have arranged a great programme
starting at 12 noon at Barton Turns Marina
(off the A 38 near Burton) and then
working our way back to Winster. |

Sunday 14 September
|
Dancing at Matlock Bath illuminations at 7.00
pm. We are booked at the Matlock
Bath Illuminations at 7.00 pm. We can do a couple of spots in
the afternoon and early evening. Meet 3.00 pm at Hartington.
Then 4.30 pm at Carsington or Wirksworth and then 6.00 pm at The
Fishpond |

Thursday 18th Sept.
|
Trip to Brampton Brewery leaving Winster
by coach 7.30 pm and returning about 11.00 pm or you can go
direct and meet us there. The idea is that we go in kit and do
a short dance spot either before the brewery tour or before
the buffet supper that follows the tour. ( free supper and free
beer !! ). |

Sunday 21 September |
Derbyshire dance day at Keddleston Hall. We
are booked at Derbyshire Day a BBC Radio Derby day organised with
the Local Authority. It is being held at Calke Abbey
this year and we need to be there 12 noon to 3.00 pm so could add
in a pub spot afterwards if the weather is reasonable. More
details to follow. |

Saturday 25th Oct. |
Possible booking at an Oddfellows dinner
in Derby. It is also the Derby Folk Fest weekend so we might
dance earlier outside the Assembly Rooms. More info to follow.

Thursday 9th Oct. |
Provisional date for AGM. Forthcoming
events in 2009 to be discussed at AGM.
Trip to Onzain for May Day holiday
weekend May 1st to 5th with Darley Dale and District Twinning
Association celebrating 20 years of the twinning relationship.
Trip to Babadag Romania with Cock
and Magpie probably week commencing 20th July. This is a return
trip following the Babadag dance team visit last November. |
