Thursday Evenings

Practices start 2nd March at 8.00 pm in the Burton Institute and weekly through March, April and May. 

We start at 8.00 pm so that any youngster can join us for at least the first hour.

Friday March 3rd and on 4 subsequent Fridays, starting from 3.00 pm
Teaching Winster Morris dances to children at Elton School.
Thursday March 9th 8.00pm - practice for all members.
Open day for new/potential members.
General meeting after practice to confirm availability and bookings.
Thursday March 30th 8.00pm - practice for all members.
Meeting after practice for those going on the German visit
.
There are 30 of us in the party: 11 Dancers, 4 Musicians, 3 Characters and 12 groupies.
Friday March 31st 6.30 pm dancing at the Assembly Rooms in Derby in advance of
The Morris Offspring and the English Acoustic Collective gig.
Thursday April 6th 7.00 pm dancing at Elton outside "The Duke"; 8.00 dancing at Youlgreave outside "The George"
April 27th to May 2nd

Visit to dance in and around the Paletine wine growing hamlet of Ungstein in Germany.

Thursday 4th May Steering group meeting 8.00 pm. No practice this evening. Next practice Thursday 11th May.
Thursday May 18th Dancing out. Meeting at The Three Stags, Darley Bridge at 7.30 pm and moving on to the Plough at Two Dales later.
Thursday May 25th 8.00pm - practice for all members, particularly those going to Bampton.
Monday May 29th We take up the invitation from our very good friends Bampton Morris Dancers, Oxon, to join them as they dance through the streets and gardens of their village. They begin around 8.30 am and invite guests to join from 6.00 pm. Arrive to experience and enjoy the day as appropriate.
Saturday June 3rd

Meet for a drink then dancing at The Railway Inn, Matlock (opposite Somerfield) at 1.00 pm before participating in Matlock Live  - dancing in and around Hall Leys Park during the afternoon from 2.00 to 4.00. Afterwards, around 5.00 pm at the Thorn Tree Inn.

Friday June 9th

Teaching Winster Morris dances to children at Stanton in Peak School

Thursday June 15th 8.00 pm. Wakes practice in the Burton Institute
Wednesday June 21st 9.30 am. Dance workshop at St Anselms Preparatory School, Bakewell.
Thursday June 22nd Dancing out with Harthill at Tideswell (commencing at 7.30 outside The George) and probably Taddington afterwards.
Sunday June 25th Wakes week commences with the crowning of the Carnival Queen, Church service and then tea and cakes in the institute. Silence your Morris bells in church please!
Saturday July 1st Wakes Saturday. Parade starts around 2.30. Dancing both afternoon and evening.
Guests to be Bampton  Morris - Our Friends from Oxfordshire.
Sunday July 16th National Trust celebrations day out - 12 noon at Miners (transport) 1.00pm at The George, Alstonefield - 3.00pm at Dovedale (pics) and 5.00pm at the Market House in Winster. (Secret gardens weekend)
Saturday August 12th Day out - 1.00pm at the Barley Mow, Bonsall, 2.30pm at the Boat Inn, Cromford and 3.30pm including a request to dance at a wedding at Matlock RFC, on Cromford meadows.
